Extra time may also be available for an additional rate per hour if you need me to stay longer at your wedding than originally planned.
Q. How far are you willing to travel?A. I will go wherever needed. My standard rates apply within 50 miles from home. Destinations outside of one hours travel will be charged one or two nights lodging. Airfare and rental car will also be added if required.Q. What packages do you offer?A. All events are custom. I do not use "package" pricing so you never pay for stuff you don't want or need. You control your own budget and build your own "package".
Q. Do you provide black and white photography?A. Yes. I photograph most events using 100% digital equipment which allows for multiple image styles. With high resolution scans to create images in black and white, sepia tone, or even pastel.Q. What is your photographic style?A. All events are customized to the client I photograph. I create the images you wish to remember. My style, whether it's traditional, contemporary, photo journalistic, or simply candid should reflect you,. I prefer to capture the natural expressions of you and your guests, not stage them. For weddings, I use a mostly traditional style for the service and more photo journalistic during the reception.
Q. How many pictures do you take?A. A average of about 25 images per coverage hour are created with the use of digital equipment. Every image captured will be available to you , exception to the rule would be if the images are out of focus, eyes closed, ect. A traditional wedding and reception averages anywhere from 200 to 400 images for your collection, depending on the length of time I am hired for, number of guest, family portraits, ect.Q. How long do I spend with the bride before the ceremony? A. This is completely up to you. Many of today's brides are skipping this option in an attempt to save money. This is sad since I feel some of the most intimate and personal images happen during this time just before the service.
Q. How much time should we plan for portraits? A. Plan for about an hour between the church service and reception. Not including any travel time, I prefer to set aside around 20 minutes with the bride and groom after the ceremony and another half an hour for other family and wedding party portraits, depending on your needs. Adjustments can be made. I prefer not to rush this part of the day, but on the other hand I prefer not to keeping your guests waiting too long. The best way to get the best of both worlds is to plan ahead. Let everyone know before the service when and where to meet for your portraits after your other guests have left for the reception.Q. Will you take some portraits of me with my family? A. Of course. Weddings and other special events are the perfect time to do family generation shots, etc. When we sit down to plan the day’s schedule, we can talk about all the must have” group images and many more can be put together during the reception at will.
Q. Do you need a list of desired shots? A. A list may help you to plan who needs to be where and when, but I do not need one. Planning every image can prevent the activities of the day from flowing naturally. The “checklist” will be complete, but the overall feelings and emotions when put together ends up rather boring and will not represent your memories of the day. I will be more than happy to photograph any group or individual whenever you wish.
I do not use package pricing so you are free to choose just the options you wish without paying for extra things you don't need.

Useful InformationI want to make copies of my photos. Does my photographer really own the copyright of his/her pictures? Do I still have to pay the photographer if I make the copies myself at a copy shop?Yes and yes. According to federal law, images produced by a professional photographer are copyrighted the moment they are created. Federal law prohibits copying or reproducing copyrighted material without permission from the owner of the copyright, i.e., the photographer. If you copy or scan your photos, the photographer should be paid just as if you were buying reprints. If you or your videographers transfer the photos to videotape, the photographer should be paid just as if you were buying reprints. You can also purchase the rights to make your own copies or re-prints.
Some photographers ask that no one else take pictures during the formal photography. Is that reasonable?Yes. If the photographer is trying to work quickly through a series of formal pictures, a snap-shooter might slow the process. A problem arises when there are several cameras aimed at a formal group - the subjects will be looking at different lenses. The diverted attention will ruin the professional's picture. Or, if the professional is using a light-sensing trigger device ("slave") on a second flash, other flashes will trigger this flash, ruining the pictures (that you are paying for) and wasting battery power. There are many other reasons why a professional might ask others to refrain from picture taking during formals. On the other hand, many guests find snapping a few pictures a pleasant part of attending weddings, so it should not be a big deal for your professional to be relaxed and let people snap away when formals are over. Ideally, guests should show respect for the bridal party and photographer and put down their cameras during the formal photos.
Who chooses the pictures that go in the album?Once you receive your photographs, it is then your decision what to place in your album.
So, how much does wedding photography cost?Professional photography prices range from $950 to $10,000, and even more! Photographs
(And maybe video) will be your only permanent record of the day. You want good photographs.
When couples value photography highly and are on a limited budget, they will spend up to 30% of
Their wedding budget on photography. Most brides initially underestimate the cost of photography by 50%. Keep in mind that there are only so many weekends for weddings in a year, so a true wedding
Professional can only work a limited number of days.
